How to save precious oil paintings? restoration, conservation and practical steps, hope this post helps you and is of value for your time here on the Red Pilgrim blog. Being an obsessive painter since year 2000 this is important process, clutter clearing arranging, saleable art ,tearing, burning, ripping canvases and saving precious old paintings for increasing their value. Cutting precious oil paintings, tearing is a ritual I always do to maintain my studio art clutter. being and obsessive artist I usually tear paper paintings that are not saleable or not in good condition. Was clinging to precious artworks of year 2000 which were framed in wood. the wooden frames tend to bend, warp and even attract spiders and pests. Even after regular cleaning the home studio during rainy seasons and winters does start looking gloomy with high humidity. Oil canvas paintings may attract fungus and we have to be really careful to maintain the health of paintings. I personally cannot live with closed windows in air conditioned environment hence the artworks are allowed to hang on walls and breathe. That is the best way to restore, conserve, store precious oil paintings-to frame and hang them on wall.

why some oil paintings never heal? I guess there is technique in oil paintings and some colors never dry completely if in thick layers. Being a self taught artists has its own lessons to learn and have learned most the hard way since painting for more than two decades using oils, acrylics canvas papers. Two large canvas Kundalini paintings I had to let go..

However much you try you just cannot heal them...this is what i have learned with two decades of reiki. It is not about me, I understood, it is each ones karmic lessons and individual soul journey that only heals when the Universe wishes to and when the individual awakens to bring change in their life, only then will the universe guide to a beautiful pathway.. there are so many ways to lead a happy successful life, so much in abundance with the Universe....I just wish people become aware of these.

some parts of torn canvasses can be recycled but we have to be careful if there is fungus from behind the canvas then such canvasses must be disposed of because this may spread to other canvasses.
Destiny was a cubism abstract of year 2000. Due to extra pressure the canvas in tension had developed cracks. I took care of this for twenty one years but finally decided to move on.

Those cubism small artworks of year 2005 and ahead-A few years of my life, I had one large collage framed and it still has the vibes and charms of oils.

My studio magic never rests as I continue making fresh art, recycling old art, repainting, adding, removing, and listing in my inventory. It is very very difficult for me to follow rules in art or a set pattern of mode, and it is always a mess but I love painting and magic continues to happen here..
The obsession with small paper never stops and I love making small sized artworks. With glass, I know there is an aspect of fragility, but that is what makes it costly and desirable. Small and medium sized paintings can be framed in glass and fit in any space of home or office. Also wonderful as side table, console table, feng shuii entryway art.

An important part of the artists journey and art career is you have to keep adding resources, paints, canvasses, we need special arrangements to store artworks carefully till they sell, artists are obsessed with bombardment of ideas to paint and there is always the struggle between studio time and family time. I sometimes paint till midnight or more so many times to not take away precious family's time. There are more than ten thousand hours of making art when the magic actually begins.
